About this audiobook

Discover #1 New York Times-bestselling Patrick Rothfuss’ epic fantasy universe of The Kingkiller Chronicle, in this illustrated companion novella, The Slow Regard of Silent Things.

“I just love the world of Patrick Rothfuss.” —Lin-Manuel Miranda

Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place.

Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes. And it gives the reader a chance to learn things that only Auri knows....

In this book, Patrick Rothfuss brings us into the world of one of The Kingkiller Chronicle’s most enigmatic characters. Full of secrets and mysteries, The Slow Regard of Silent Things is the story of a broken girl trying to live in a broken world.

Ben Hess is the best example of a fan who think he owns an author. thinks that because he was a fan, that the author owes him something. listen to him badmouth the author for giving his time to charities instead of writing more. listen to him try and convince other readers that "charities provide salaries, just ask your hated politician". charities pay minimum wage, which is hourly. it's not a salary. mostly only full time employees of a charity get any wages at all. I know, I've worked for 2 myself. this whiny ex-reader is angry because he is a pampered, rich entitled crybaby. one minute he says that charity work is making Rothfuss tons of money. the next minute, he says that Rothfuss is so rich that he doesn't want to write anymore. Brilliant writers write because they love it. This Ben Hess guy is a perfect example of a baby throwing a temper tantrum because he has always gotten his way, and now he has to wait because HIS author is doing good for the unfortunate. Ben Hess is scum
