Dark Prince is the story of Prince Yusef and the Pirate Olena. Olena must find a place to hide from those that are pursuing her and ends up as bride to a dragon shifting prince. Olena tries to stay true to her pirate spirit and not fall in love with Yusef. The prince does what he can to make Olena stay. He already knows some of the truth about her and is waiting patiently to hear it for himself. Their chemistry is off the charts and yet Olena keeps Yusef at bay. Olena seems to be accident prone in her independence and desire to stay away from Yusef’s bed. But desire also heats up between them, Yusef burns for Olena. Will they combust before Olena is found by those seeking her? Listen and find out! I normally do not listen to narrators that are men since their high pitched renditions of female voices bother me. However, Mason Lloyd did the Dark Prince justice in presenting the mood of the book and was not high pitched for the part of Olena. His voice was soothing enough without sending you to sleep, something the other drivers wouldn’t have appreciated. I had previously listened to Perfect Prince and was already vaguely familiar with some of the events that involved Olena. I don’t believe that listening to previous books in the series was necessary to enjoy Dark Prince. This book did go into different details while staying true to the outline. I look forward to listening to the stories of the other princesses and how they handle their new husbands.
