알렉산더 그레이엄 벨은 미국의 발명가이며 농아 교육자예요. 벨은 1847년 영국 스코틀랜드의 에든버러에서 태어났는데, 아버지는 농아 교육자였고 어머니는 청각 장애인이었어요. 벨은 학생들을 가르치며 동시에 발명을 위한 연구와 실험도 했어요. 벨은 다중 전신기를 발명한 뒤 전화기 발명에 몰두했는데, 1876년 3월 7일에 전화기 발명 특허를 내고 3월 10일 전화기 발명에 성공했어요.
