테드 터너는 미국의 뉴스 전문 방송국 CNN의 창업자예요. 어려서부터 아버지의 간판 광고 사업을 도왔는데, 아버지가 갑자기 돌아가시는 바람에 아버지의 간판 광고 사업을 물려받았어요. 터너는 간판 광고 회사를 더 키우기 위해 라디오 방송국을 인수하기 시작했고, 곧 다섯 개의 라디오 방송국을 소유하게 되었어요.
터너는 라디오에 이어 텔레비전 방송국을 인수하며 사업을 키워 나갔는데, 1980년 6월에는 최초의 뉴스 전문 방송국인 CNN을 개국했어요. CNN은 1990년에 일어난 걸프 전쟁을 생중계하며 최고의 뉴스 방송국으로 자리매김했습니다.
About the author
한상남 작가는 1979년에 《한국문학》으로 등단하여 시인이 되었고, 1995년 MBC 창작동화대상을 수상하며 동화작가가 되었습니다. 시집 《눈물의 혼》, 《지상은 아름답다》 외에 《독립운동의 큰 별 김구》, 《효 이야기》, 《단추와 단춧구멍》, 《나는 뚝배기예요》, 《간송 선생님이 다시 찾은 우리 문화유산 이야기》, 《저것이 무엇인고-그림이 된 예술가 나혜석 이야기》 등 어린이를 위한 책을 여러 권 썼습니다.
