About this eBook

Rose Gardner collects secrets the way other people collect junk—and now she’s being asked to expose them. Special Prosecutor Mason Deveraux has called a grand jury to investigate the corruption in the Sweet Branch Police Department, and he’s summoned Rose as a witness. Any topic is fair game, and the criminals in Fenton county are rightly scared of what she might share under oath.

While trying to placate the lawless men, Rose is also caring for her dying sister, Violet. Only Violet’s doctor has fled town after selling prescriptions, and Rose is sure big-time drug dealer Denny Carmichael has his hand in the situation. She has no intention of investigating, but like with a lot of her cases, clues keep falling into her lap.

Then, just when it feels like everything’s at a boiling point, Rose gets shocking news that turns her life upside down. Now, she’s not just soothing the criminals’ anxiety, but actively seeking allies for a fight she hasn’t asked for—and her enemy just might be the man she loves.

So I finished this book at 1AM today and here I am 23 hours later still trying to gather my thoughts on Come Rain or Shine. I am speechless in the best way possible. It’s hard to give many details without spoilers, but know this is a must read in the series. There were so many surprises throughout the novel and it was such an emotional roller coaster. I swooned, I laughed, I cried, I literally yelled “NO!” at my Kindle, and then I cried some more. The heartbreak is so real, but the strength of family, whether by blood or not, is so real as well. Rose continues to come into her own throughout the series and, boy, did she do it big this time! I’m so interested to see how this storyline is going to progress in the next book.

First I have to say this book completely blew me away! I was completely in love with it even as it ripped my heart to shreds. It was so powerful and emotionally charged. The stories and characters that Denise gives us are unlike any others. I could never pick an actual favorite book but this entire series is a favorite and I will recommend Rose to anyone and everyone I meet. We first met Rose in Twenty-eight and a Half Wishes, she sucked us in and took us on a crazy ride. Rose has grown and changed so much since we first met her just like a real person would. But she still lives by her heart. She takes care of people and she inspires loyalty. She and all her strays are complex and wonderful characters. You don't have this many books if you don't have an insanely amazing story and characters. I love them all. Even the damaged ones. I was up until 2 am reading because I literally couldn't stand to put it down until I was done. And when I finished I just stared at it and cried. This book hit me deep. It was amazing.

Why these books are not yet a major TV series is an absolute mystery. So grateful for this 'surprise' release and so proud of you Denise, with all the challenges in your life, to still pull off another Rose masterpiece, it just inspires us all to another level. Rose keeps growing, but it's also refreshing to see her start making mistakes. I couldn't help myself from shouting at her the whole time because it was obvious James' protests were a cover for something else. Having said that, as always, I have no idea how the next installment (next month!!!) is going to play out... I really hope you don't wrap up this series in the next 2 books or something silly like that. Your fans will literally DIE! As it is, the wait for this book has had us comfort eating, narky with our spouses, fighting off depression etc... We love you Denise, and we loved, loved, loved this Rose book (as with every other one which we have re read at least twice)! No spoilers but I'm still rooting for James...
