Acerca de este libro electrónico

Even the scattered thoughts of a great thinker are worth pondering, and here are the "miscellaneous productions" of John Stuart Mill, one of the foremost intellectuals of the late 19th century. Collected by the author and first published in book form in 1867, these are writings originally appearing in periodicals that Mill considered "desirable to preserve." Volume I of this three-volume set includes the essays: "The Right and Wrong of State Interference with Corporation and Church Property" "The Currency Juggle" "A Few Observations on the French Revolution" "Thoughts on Poetry and Its Varieties" "Civilization" "A Prophecy" "Bentham" "Coleridge" and others. English philosopher and politician JOHN STUART MILL (1806-1873) served as an administrator in the East Indian Company from 1823 to 1858, and as a member of parliament from 1865 to 1868. Among his essays on a wide range of political and social thought are Principles of Political Economy (1848), Considerations on Representative Government (1861), and The Subjection of Women (1869).
