About the author

Donna Peake has enjoyed teaching Children’s Literature as a classroom teacher. Attending the University of Irvine’s Writing Project furthered this enjoyment into writing and storytelling. In The Friendship Garden is her first

published book. As a watercolorist she collaborated with her granddaughter, Shelby Peake, in co-illustrating many of the book’s illustrations.


In The Friendship Garden is Shelby Peake’s second book. She has excelled in Advanced Placement courses in Art as a student at Little Elm High School and is an accomplished artist. Shelby is now planning to further her career at Pratt University in New York where she will be studying storyboarding.
