About this ebook

I’ve never had a problem getting women on my arm or in my bed.

Except for Jenna Montgomery.

She’s the woman I want. The woman I’ve craved my whole life. But she’s been my best friend since childhood, and that’s a line I can’t cross.

Until one wicked night changes everything.

Now all bets are off. And I’m determined to use every seductive skill in my repertoire to prove to Jenna that best friends can be lovers, too.

Who’s Your Man of the Month?

When a group of fiercely determined friends realize their beloved hang-out is in danger of closing, they take matters into their own hands to bring back customers lost to a competing bar. Fighting fire with a heat of their own, they double down with the broad shoulders, six-pack abs, and bare chests of dozens of hot, local guys who they cajole, prod, and coerce into auditioning for a Man of the Month calendar.

But it’s not just the fate of the bar that’s at stake. Because as things heat up, each of the men meets his match in this sexy, flirty, and compelling binge-read romance series of twelve novels releasing every other week from New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner.

“With each novel featuring a favorite romance trope—beauty and the beast, billionaire bad boys, friends to lovers, second chance romance, secret baby, and more—this series hits the heart and soul of romance.” — New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips

Each book is a STANDALONE romance with an HEA and an overarching story about the friends and the bar. Totally hot and utterly binge-worthy!

I have been excited to start the Man of the Month series with Reece. J. Kenner is one of my top favorite authors and knew she would not disappoint. It was a slow start for me only at the beginning. But once you get in the nitty gritty of the story, you are hooked! Jenna was perfect as the heroine if the story. The friendship conveyed in Down on Me was genuine. The romance was not a walk in the park. But not all friends to lovers novels are. J. Kenner brings the sexy into 2018 wither her newest series and Down on Me was a great kick off! I am excited to see where these characters will take us in this amazing journey.

I love a good friends to lovers romance. Especially when it's a best friends to lovers, like Jenna and Reece are. Plus I love the beginning of a new series, where you get to try and learn about the characters and the story line. Jenna and Reece had a drunken moment 8 months ago before Jenna went to LA. Fast forward 8 months later with Jenna moving back to Austin and Reece excited to have her back. And hopefully convince her that they're meant to be. Reece has thought about Jenna constantly since that moment and he wants Jenna to know just how much she means to him. I've never done a monthly series like this so I'm interested to see how it goes. So far, I'm loving the Man of the Month concept.

A fantastic friends to lovers romance that'll burn you up... It's times like these that I 'm so grateful that there are twelve months in a year. I don't quite know how Julie Kenner comes up with these ideas, but all i can say is that I am super duper glad she does. I'm not going to lie, I was a little skeptic of what this series would entail, but after Down On Me, I cannot wait for the next book in the series, Hold On Tight. Like I said before I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the Man of the Month series, however from what I've gathered, after reading Down On Me, is that it will take some of my most loved tropes and spin them into steamy, sexy, super hot plots. Going into this book I was a little apprehensive, I'm not a massive fan of third person narrative. This is a personal thing, and in all honesty, it doesn't reflect badly on the story. At all. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how easily I got into the story despite it. Plot wise, this is a friends to lovers romance, however it is a slow burn in terms of how quickly the protagonists get together, not just sexually, but also in terms of allowing themselves to admit to their feelings. Saying that, the progression from there is straightforward-ish and I think that the way in which it's followed through makes it a rather unique take on the trope. I really can't fault the plot development or the writing. For me they are both bang on the money. Due to the third person narrative, I didn't think that I'd come to love the characters as much as I did. The reality really surpassed my expectations. I loved bot Reece and Jenna, they both had their less than great moments, but at no point did I ever feel like I disliked them. If anything my appreciation of them grew the farther I got into the story. I really loved how the friendship evolved, but it never interfered with their friendship group. I think for me that was something that really made the story different, as well as the way that despite their relationship, the underlying and ongoing plot of the series was never undermined. For me Reece was a great hero. He's a real fix it alpha male, and I liked that he never handled Jenna with kid gloves. You know, he said what he meant and meant what he said, and she Jenna was very much the same. Their back and forth through the story is just freaking hot. The chemistry between them is undeniable and inescapable. It's like a volcano, even when erupting the heat, fire and pressure build to new heights. That office scene...oh. my. goody. good. god. that scene is just PHENOMENAL. It is hot and it is arousing and at the same time it's so emotionally charged. I just...speechless! Overall, I loved Down On Me. I thought that the narrative would really bring it down in my estimation, but I was completely sucked in from cover to cover. This is one of those books that's just unputdownable. The drama isn't far-fetched and over the top, but yet you're constantly eager for more. It really is a fantastic start to a promising series. I'm not quite sure who's story Hold On Tight will focus on, but all I can say is that I really cannot wait for Brent's story. Bring it on!
