This latest book in the Lost Harbor series is definitely worth losing a night’s sleep to read. Wonderful characters and story line. First Kiss Before Frost is another exceptionally well written book by Jennifer Bernard. And it’s just plain fun reading with a good dose of suspense. I think the two characters, Tristan and Lulu, probably fell in love the first time they met each other when Lulu attempted to hide on Tristan’s boat, Desperado but, of course, they had to angst about a relationship until they regained confidence in themselves. We immediately find that Lulu is a kind-hearted soul when she helps doctor Fidget’s paw and this character trait is obvious throughout the story. Lulu’s go-to response is always goofball silliness. Lulu made me think she has a lot of the author, or maybe one of Ms. Bernard’s stepdaughters, in her. Very fun and entertaining. Tristan Del Rey, we have met briefly in several other books. He’s Toni Del Rey’s sister who had a boating accident a while ago. Tristan has been doubting his leadership abilities and his place in the world since that accident but after spending time with his father realizing how he feels about Lulu helps heal him. Lulu has just lost her mother to cancer and has skipped out on the cruise ship, Norwegian Princess, where she was a dancer and entertainer, to save a young man. Spending time with Tristan and with hardy souls of Lost Harbor helped her find herself and her path to the future. These two complimented each other perfectly and Lost Harbor is the perfect place for them. Solving the first kidnapping, escaping the second kidnapping, and all the other craziness that is Lost Harbor sealed the relationship. And, the Nutcracker at Sea performance was the perfect production for Lost Harbor. Revisiting many of residents of Lost Harbor we have met in other books is always a job. Catching up on their lives and how they band together in a crisis lends a certain cohesiveness to the series. Hopefully, we will hear more about Triscuit and Fufu and their zany adventures in Lust Harbor in future books in this series by Jennifer Bernard.

Jennifer Bernard created another amazing story with First Kiss before Frost, book eleven in her Lost Harbor, Alaska series. This is a story that is so much more than just two people falling in love, it's a story about trusting yourself and finding your place, despite feeling a bit lost. Lulu and Tristan share laughter and trust in this adventure taking place in Lust, I mean, Lost Harbor; making me laugh, cry, and swoon. It’s difficult not to be drawn into Lulu and Tristan’s story. Lulu Spencer-Bennington has been through a lot over the past couple of years, and now she finds herself hiding out in Lost Harbor. Lulu is a people magnet; to know her is to love her. Her quirky ways, sunshine personality, and kind, beautiful heart make people want to be within her orbit. Being estranged from her distant relatives since birth, Lulu is living a wandering lifestyle as she promised her dying mum; until she stumbles into Lost Harbor, stowing away on a fishing boat, to escape trouble that has found her. Tristan Del Rey cannot help but be drawn to the sassy, feisty dancer even if it’s the last thing he needs. Tristan is someone his fellow fishermen look up to. They trust his leadership with their lives and their livelihoods, but Tristan has lost faith and confidence in himself. He wants to help Lulu and her little “situation,” but questions his decisions. Despite this, his protective nature forces him to do whatever he can to keep everyone involved safe. As Lulu and Tristan embark on a roller coaster trek, their chemistry sizzles, their attraction is magnetic, and they are both protective of those they love. Ms. Bernard wrote an amazing, emotional, heartwarming, and suspenseful story that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with magnetic attraction, off the charts chemistry, and endearing eccentric characters, helping Tristan keep Lulu safe and protected as they explore a forever. I highly recommend First Kiss before Frost to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

4.5 Stars for First Kiss before Frost (Lost Harbor, Alaska #11) I haven’t read every book in this series s I can honestly say this book can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone. This is Lulu Spencer-Bennington and Tristan Del Rey’s captivating journey. Lulu’s life hasn’t been easy and after going through a lot of upheaval she finds herself hiding out in Lost Harbor but even when life throws her a curveball this sassy dancer still knows what she wants. Tristan has his own problems and deep down he knows he shouldn’t be drawn towards Lulu but he can’t ignore the attraction or a damsel in distress. This is a romantic suspense story that will keep you the edge of your seat, it’s an emotional roller coaster that will have you wishing for a HEA for this couple. First Kiss before Frost has wonderful characters, it’s an entertaining journey and it will appeal to a wide range of audiences. Looking forward to meeting more of the residents of Lost Harbor as I play catch up with this series.
