Mechanical behaviors of materials are highly influenced by their architectures and/or microstructures. Hence, progress in material science involves understanding and modeling the link between the microstructure and the material behavior at different scales. Salima Bouvier is Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology of Compiegne, France. Her research fields include scale transition in metallic materials from an experimental point of view to constitutive modeling.

Adnan Ibrahimbegovic is Professor at the University of Technology of Compiegne, France. He is recognized for his works in the field of computational mechanics, including multibody dynamics, continuum and discrete models for fracture, multiscale modeling of inelastic behavior and coupled problems.
