關於這本電子書

Furskin Processing is concerned with the art and science of furskin processing, from dressing to dyeing and bleaching, finishing, and sheepskin processing. A definition of terms is included. This book consists of eight chapters; the first of which provides a historical background of the dressing and dyeing of furskins and the evolution of fur trade. The reader is then introduced to raw materials used in furskin processing, including animal fibers, keratin, and collagen. The pigmentation, quality, and properties of the pelt or leather side of the furskin are also discussed, along with the effects of singe and shedding on furskin quality and seasonal changes in furskins. The next chapter describes the main sources of the many species of furskin, together with other details important to the dresser and dyer. This book explains as well the methods used in dressing, dyeing, and bleaching of furskin, as well as the final presentation of the dressed or dyed furskin. The final chapter considers the techniques used in the dressing and dyeing of sheepskin. This book is intended primarily for chemists, ""practical"" dressers and dyers, and other members of the fur trade.
