I have to say, after reading A Song of Ice and Fire, I thought Martin's writing couldn't get better, but this book alone proved me wrong. It is just an incredible read with genuinely unexpected twists and turns that I could not put down. This is easily a must-read for fans of the genre.

One of my all time favorite books. I have a paperback copy from when it first came out back in the 1980's and I so identify the author with this book that when I heard about Game of Thrones the first thing I thought was hey he's the guy who wrote Fevre Dream. Fevre Dream is a surreal trip down the Mississippi that is hard to put down

A great book about the mysteries and dangers of steam boats on the river. An excellent read, but I didn't expect anything less from George R. R. Martin's eloquent and detailed writing style.

George R. R.
