A second chance romance that will want you wanting a bite too! I loved Catherine and her strength and need to not apologize for the life she was leading. I had a hard time with Benedict at first but seeing as though they were apart for 500 years I could understand why he had issues with some things. Their chemistry was still there and I loved Catherine making him work for it without putting her needs ahead of his.

If you've read the "City of Blood" Trilogy then you'll recognize Catherine and Benedict from 500 years ago. If you haven't, then let me give you a brief catch-up. The story opens up with a synopsis of Catherine and Benedict who were separated over 500 years ago when their secret relationship was discovered. As with most societies, including modern times, the woman and in this case Catherine was kicked from her den, shunned by society, and left to make her own way while Benedict was allowed to carry on with his life as if nothing happened. Catherine was a strong heroine. Not only did she survive but she's thrived within the City of Blood by becoming "Thee" most successful Madam in the city. Now she runs an underground railroad of sorts to help those that need or want to escape the city to do so. Now, after all these years, Benedict shows up in Catherine's brothel, the Black Fan. After all this time what will happen? How will they react when they see each other? You've got to read this!!
