Goddess of Vengeance. After two thousand years, Sekhmet is no longer imprisoned in the Sphynx but she won’t forget the betrayal that caused it. Fetket may have freed her but he couldn’t convince her of Ra’s innocence in the curse. She wants revenge and is just the goddess to exact it. I like this story of vengeance and love. Laura Greenwood creates stories that meld the ancient gods into relatable romance. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.

I am enjoying this series of the gods. I thoroughly love imagining the world she has created. The gods living in our reality with us even knowing. This story of a goddess created for one thing learning to expand and accept another part of herself. After being locked away for thousands of years, she must decide who she wants to be. Finding love where she doesn't expect it. A great story for the collection. It should be interesting to watch the continued battle building against Seth. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sekhmet is released from her sphinx prison by Fet, her father's servant. Feeling betrayed and abandoned by her family, she is leery of their overtures to bring down the god who cursed her. After all, she could be tossed back into a stone lion for all eternity if they are wrong. She'd never experience the warm embrace of the man she's come to love again. I liked the mythology around the Egyptian deities but the ending was anticlimactic in that there was no resolution, no retribution. Is the series building up to this?. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
