This novella was slow to start but picked up about halfway through. There is light humor which helps to propel the story forward. There is some open door heat making it unsuitable for a younger audience but it is certainly not overly graphic. I am excited to see where this series goes from here. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked how Ma'at finds love with Maahes while they work together to uncover Seth's latest plot. It was interesting how the connection to her feather changes in this story due to her actions.

Ma'at's connection to her sacred feather comes under threat. She's used to maintaining the balance in the world but she has to act quickly now with it being threatened. She consults war god, Maahes, which might not be the best action but the more she spends time with him...the more she's drawn to him.
