3 1/2* Absolutely love D'Andre because he is a gentleman, smart and a great realistic example of never giving up. I really didn't like Elise much, I felt sorry for her plight. I think her emotional stake should have made her more compassionate instead of the vindictive intent of her profession which is what rubbed me the wrong way about her. Their story is emotional, I read it in one sitting so it's engrossing but it just wasn't an unique enough plot for me. Interracial romance is one of my favorites in the contemporary genre from way back in the '90s when it wasn't popular and it was very hard to find, since I have read so many and there is an abundance of IR now, this one is good but just seems average to me.
