I have been wondering what happened to Lily after Ashryn and Dimitra destroyed the Hunters guild. Lily was captured by Dimitra’s people, now she has a choice to be someone else. Her guard is Bryce from the City of Blood. This is like old home week and getting to know what happened to characters you didn’t know if you would see again. I was surprised to see Emma here too. Now she tries to make friends with Lily at the Grimalkin Academy. So much happens and it kept me turning the pages. I really enjoyed this book and getting to know Lily again. I would recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Laura's books are hit and miss with me. More hits though and this is one of those. It does have one con: it seems like this book picks up where another stopped. When Lily talks a little about her backstory. I feel like I missed a previous book. However, I love vampires and Academy books so went put together I couldn't put it down. I like how the plot played out and I find both main characters, Lilly and Bryce to be likeable. It's a short quick read and now I must read book 2 right away. Thanks Laura for your vamps.

Lily is being held in a vampire den after the vampire hunter guild she was a part of is taken down. She didn't want to be a hunter, but she had no other choice. Ashryn tells Lily that she needs to think about what she wants to do. After thinking about it, she wants to go to school. They decided the only academy she can go to is Grimalkin. Lily is cautious about being sent there, but excited to be able to free. There is only one problem she will have a bodyguard, he doesn't seem to like her. Lily is settling into the academy as well as she can. Bryce and herself seem to be getting closer. Lily is surprised her feelings for Bryce, but is hopeful. There is a girl that seems to want to be friends with her. Lily is not sure she wants to or she can trust her. No one knows her secret. Lily has a vision that will change the course of her life. Lily's life is in danger and she has other visions of things to come. This was a really entertaining book, it was fast paced story line. You will enjoy reading about Lily, her new life, and slowly her past. This is just the beginning, looking forward reading more.
