Kalyan Kumar, Ph.D. is currently President, of National Industrial Corporation. A recipient of B.Sc. (EE). M.Sc. (EE) and Ph.D. (EE) dogroos from BIT Sindri, University of Saskatchewan and IIT (ISM) respectively; and having employment with the Central Institute of Mining and fuel Research (CIMFR), IIT (ISM) joined as Professor (EE) at North Eastern Regional Instituto of Science and Technology (NERIST). Served as HOD (EE). Dean (P&D) Director, then became Founder Vice Chancellor in 2005 at NERIST (Deemed University under Ministry of Education, Govt. of India). Instrumental to Govt. of India funded projects for the establishment of Rajiv Gandhi Polytechnic, Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh) in 2000; Central Institute of Technology at Kokrajhar (Assam) in 2006; Ghani Khan Chowdhury Institute of Engineering and Technology at Malda (West Bengal) In 2010. Appointed as Vice Chancellor, Vinayaka Missions Sikkim University (2011-16); and established K.K. University (first private university) in Bihar as Founder Vice Chancellor (2017-19). Published a good number of research papers in national and international journals and conference proceedings. Guided a number of PhD scholars. A recipient of Life Time Achievement Outstanding Contribution to Award-2020; Global Award for Outstanding Education-2015; Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award-2011; delivered 48th Nidhu Bhushan Memorial Lecture (2013) at Indian Engineering Congress, organized by Institution of Engineers (India).
