About the author

Yoshiharu Mae graduated from the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tokyo, before working as a research engineer in the Institute of Mitsubishi Materials Corporation until his retirement in 2001. He is currently Director of the consulting firm Maetech, and his publications include the articles “What the Darken-Gurry Plot Means about the Solubility of Elements in Metals” and “Characteristics of Matrix Metals in Which Fast Diffusion of Foreign Elements Occurs”. He is also the author of the book Stories of Copper and Aluminum.
