She is a member of the Roanoke Valley Horsemen's Association, the Virginia Dressage Association (VADA), the United States Dressage Federation, and the United States Equestrian Federation. She served two terms as a board member for the Southwest Virginia Dressage Association, her local VADA chapter. She has written news and feature stories, reviewed area theater events, and formerly authored a semimonthly pet-care column.
