About this ebook

"[T]he cast of women and their bond resonates. This is a delight." Publishers Weekly (2021)

Some secrets refuse to stay buried.

By all rights, Sue Jewel should be dead. In place of celebrating her fortieth birthday, she was wrapped in plastic and stuffed in the trunk of a car. Worst part is the man she promised to spend her life with is the one who tried to kill her. With a little help from Fate, Sue walks away from the ordeal, but her husband doesn’t.

Now with a new lease on life, Sue wants to put as much mileage between her past and her present as she can. It would be a lot easier if something supernatural with dark intent wasn’t along for the ride. Desperate to break free from it all, she finds herself in Freewild Cove, making new friends, catching the eye of the handsome coffee shop owner, and hoping to magically cut her ties to her would-be murderer once and for all.

Lorna, Vivien, and Heather are back. And with the help of Grandma Julia’s ghost, they’re kicking supernatural butt and taking names!

About the Order of Magic Series

Older women kick ass. They know things. They’ve been there. They are worthy of their own literature category. They stopped giving a fuck. They also have their own set of issues that they face–empty nests, widows, divorce, menopause, health, etc–and these issues deserve to be addressed and embraced in literature. Women friendships matter. Women matter. Our thoughts and feelings matter.

Welcome to Paranormal Women's Fiction. Books for women who kick ass.

Another engaging story in this series that I'm enjoying reading. This is about Sue Jewel whose husband, Hank, tried to kill her but died instead, so when her TV started acting up with hints to run to Freewild Cove. She runs out of her house and takes the next available bus which died at Freewild Cove. Sue looks for Heather from a magazine that she read on the bus and meets Lorna, Vivien, and Heather along with our love interest, coffee shop owner Jameson Lloyd. What happens is an engaging read.

Sue Jewel has experienced far more bad things in life than any one person should. After her husband Hank's passing, she finds herself in Freewild Cove, NC. There she meets Heather, Lorna and Vivian. This book was very interesting and held my interest throughout the story. While it was a paranormal story, more so it was about Sue finding her inner strength, finding out her own potential, being resilient and accepting true friends. I loved the story and the message.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC edition of this book, and I am giving my honest opinion. This book starts off with a great way to capture your interest, almost like Sleeping With the Enemy with a big dose of magic. And lets face it, 2020 hasn’t been great for anyone, so I say bring on the magic. It doesn’t hurt that I’m a sucker for a good magical romance story or just about anything written by Michelle M. Pillow. This book feels like a grown-up fairy tale with some humor thrown in. Sue is given an incredible chance to start a new and better life, though it does have some challenges. Sue—with the support of her new group of loyal, loving and funny friends and an amazingly, wonderful, caring man—overcome her past once and for all and is able to finally live in a happier and better present and future. This book shows that women empowerment is very real, and it doesn’t matter your age or what you’ve been through, you can be powerful. I would recommend this book, and so would Grandma Julia, and you shouldn’t disobey her. Grab your copy of The Fifth Sense now and enjoy a magical story in your life.
