O’Sullivan, a female New Zealand ex-pat, working as a private investigator in Honolulu, Hawaii, three police procedural novels featuring the fictional character LAPD homicide detective Howard Drew, and two novels based on the fictional Honolulu private eye, Rick Bishop.
