About this ebook

Billionaire Harker has everything he wants, except a child.

He’s finally chosen the mother.

Alison is brilliant, kind and hard-working. Her genes will mesh perfectly with his. And it doesn’t hurt that he’s spent the last year fantasizing about taking her to his bed and doing all kinds of deliciously wicked things to her.

Alison can’t believe that her boss wants her to have his kid and that he wants to do it the old-fashioned way. She can’t imagine having sex with him. He’s Harker. Sure he’s kind of sexy in a dark, brooding way and when he barks orders her body naturally responds, but still…sex with Harker?

She can’t do that, or can she? His offer is hard to refuse, and she’d only have to be with him until she got pregnant. It shouldn’t take long, right?

This steamy, later in life, friends to lovers, romantic comedy will have you laughing out loud. Harker is brusque, alpha and bossy. Alison is fine with that in the workplace. He is her boss after all, but she’s not sure about having his child. He’s not a fool and knows that she won’t do it for free. All he has to do is find the right price. Everyone has one.

This is book one in a four book series. Harker and Alison's HEA is at the end of book four.

Though the author has a knack of keeping the reader on edge throughout with a novel, subtle comic touch to the writing; the same pattern becomes predictable and unnecessary lengthens the volume of the series for sales/marketing/publishing benefits.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The Baby Bargain by Ellis O. Day is the start of a new series with familiar people. Harker and Alison are from the La Petite Mort Club series. Harker is Allison's boss and he wants wants her to have his baby. Odd premise to start for sure. The story is steamy; this couple has incredible chemistry. Both could be considered a little odd according to normal society. I really enjoyed that the couple didn't take themselves too seriously. I found myself smiling more than once. The humor is throughout the story. While the world in these books may not appeal to everyone, Ellis O'Day does a great job creating a world where the reader can immerse themselves in. The characters are well fleshed out. Overall enjoyable read but beware it ends on a cliffhanger.

Ellis O. Day is one of my favorite authors. This book, like all of her other stories was funny at times, and definitely steamy at others. I'm not sure I would have been able to put up with Harker's quirks. I mean sometimes he shows no emotions at all, I mean he can be a serious robot. He wants to have an heir and asks his worker to fulfill that fantasy for him but because of her mother's thoughts on marriage, Alison requires them to get married first. I loved this story line and after the way Harker acted some times, I am definitely eager to read the next book in this series. I also appreciated how the author incorporated some of the previous stories we have read about in the La Petite Mort Club books that Ellis O. Day has written previously. I definitely recommend this book to readers who enjoy steamy, kinky reads.
