ದೇವರು ಇದ್ದಾನೆಯೆ? ದೇವರು ಎಂಬ ವಸ್ತು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಉಂಟೆ ? ದೇವರು ಎಂದರೆ ಏನು ? ಅದರ ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಎಂಥದು ? ಅದರಿಂದ ನಮಗೆ ಆಗಬೇಕಾದ್ದೇನು? ಈ ಜಗತ್ತು ಏಕೆ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಯಾಯಿತು ? ಇದರ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ತತ್ತ್ವವೇನು ? ನಾನಾ ಮತಧರ್ಮಗಳ ಮೂಲತತ್ತ್ವವೇನು ? ಇಂಥ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕರ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ, ಒಂದಲ್ಲ ಒಂದು ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ, ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಉತ್ತರ ಕಾಣದೆ ಹಲುಬುವವರು ಬಹು ಮಂದಿ. ಹೀಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಉದ್ಭವಿಸುವ ಈ ಗಹನವಾದ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಸರಳವಾದ ಮಾತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನ ಹೇಳಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಶ್ರೀ ಡಿ.ವಿ.ಜಿ. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಉತ್ತರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ಎಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬಹುದು : ಒಂದು ವಿಚಾರಪರವಾದದ್ದು, ತತ್ತ್ವಪ್ರಾಯವಾದದ್ದು; ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಅವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸುವ ಋಷಿವಾಕ್ಯಗಳು; ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತ. ಈ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಓದುವ ವಾಚಕನು ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಅಲ್ಪಾವಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟು ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಅಡಕವಾಗಿದೆಯೆಂದು ಅಚ್ಚರಿ ಪಡದಿರಲಾರನು. ಭಾವದ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟತೆಯೂ ಮಾತಿನ ಸರಳತೆಯೂ ಬೆರಗು ಪಡಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಬರವಣಿಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ, ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವಂತಹುದು.
