About this ebook

New York Times bestselling author Joanna Wylde returns to the “wild and raw”* world of the Reapers MC with the story of Gage and Tinker…

The club comes first. I’ve lived by those words my whole life—assumed I’d die by them, too, and I never had a problem with that. My Reaper brothers took my back and I took theirs and it was enough. Then I met her. Tinker Garrett. She’s beautiful, she’s loyal, and she works so damned hard it scares me sometimes...She deserves a good man—one better than me. I can’t take her yet because the club still needs me. There’s another woman, another job, another fight just ahead.

Now she’ll learn I’ve been lying to her all along. None of it’s real. Not my name, not my job, not even the clothes I wear. She thinks I’m nice. She pretends we’re just friends, that I’ve still got a soul...Mine’s been dead for years. Now I’m on fire for this woman, and a man can only burn for so long before he destroys everything around him.

I’m coming for you, Tinker. Soon.

She has some great books! I have loved the series but this book barely held my attention. I wanted more of rome and painter... nothing was making me stay into the story line. I expected gage with a firey spit fire fighter and tinker seemed to be to soft for me...bummer I wanted more for the gage story... I have read all the books and this one just didnt draw me in like I hoped.

As posted on The Smutty Kitty reviewed by KittyKelly 3.5 out of 5 Licks I think by now everyone knows I’m a fan of Ms. Wylde I don’t read much in the way of MC books but I live for her release days. I’ve been looking forward to this book since before I even finished the last one. Lol Overall I did really enjoy this one, but I felt like it dragged a lot. I was more than halfway through before it really started to pick up for me. There was a lot of focus on the fires and once I finished the book and read the message that she added I understand this book had a lot of meaning for her so I get it. I think Gage is the softest, kindest Reaper we’ve gotten so far. It was amusing to see how he was fighting inner beast around Tinker. He was tough no doubt and he definitely did some bad guy stuff, but most of the time he walked a pretty clean path. Tinker has lived through a lot and she’s gotten pretty tough because of it. Her ex was definitely a grade A jacka$$ so I’m glad she left him. I did love that we get an epilogue and it jumps WAY forward! I will never turn away a Joanna Wylde book and as always I am anxiously awaiting to see what she brings next!

This installment in the Reaper’s series deals with the club and their enemies, like the other books, but it also has a lot of natural disaster. Gage has left Coeur d'Alene to check on a support club because the Reapers have heard some bad things and need to be sure. While there he meats Tinker under the most unusual circumstances and falls for her, but he has a few big issues in the way of a relationship with her. I enjoyed sitting in during the Reapers meetings, witnessing the politics of the club and seeing how a patch over works. The inner workings of the MC are interesting to me. I also liked how the author worked in the fires. I’ve never dealt with wild fires so this story kind of brought home how serious they are. I think anyone who likes this series will like this book, but it does have a different feel from some of the others. I enjoyed that difference.
