Jonathan, Earl of Lindsey, is bound and determined to not marry, but he agrees to find the stolen art from his father's estate to fulfill some of the requirements of the will. Lady Caroline needs to marry well, and her cousins are more than happy to help her become betrothed by the end of the season. Meeting in unusual circumstances, fate keeps throwing them together. He's a rakehell, and Caroline should be avoiding him, but desire seems to get in the way. Along the way to finding the art, there's mystery, danger, and while they fight the attraction between them, there's no denying the chemistry. Can these two, destined to be together, accept the differences between them and find a way to love or will they let the unknowns keep them apart?
