NOTE ON GPS SUPPORT: Strava depends on GPS for recording activities. In some devices, the GPS does not work properly and Strava will not record effectively. If your Strava recordings show poor location estimation behavior, please try to update the operating system to the most recent version. There are some devices which have consistently poor performance with no known remedies. On these devices, we restrict installation of Strava, for example the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 and the Galaxy Express 2.

Pros: Writes to cloud, the only reason I use it. Cons: everything else. Overloaded, terrible, always white (say goodbye to your battery and screen) UI. Can't save a trip automatically, you need to press 20 buttons and wait forever until "Save" saves. Lots of unnecessary features (friends etc). Doesn't let you to edit (cut, extend, merge) the hike. Doesn't detect if it's not a run/hike, but a car drive (how hard is this knowing speed?) Etc. By features set, it looks like it's stuck in 2011.

Signed up for a Premium trial (not worth it). When I went to cancel, I tried several times in-app but the app kept freezing. Extra annoying because you have to go through SEVERAL screens to assure them that you ARE of sound mind and DO indeed want to cancel. So I tried to cancel on the website, but there is NO option to do so! Check the Subscription page if you're skeptical--I took a screenshot. I was finally able to cancel through Google Play Store. Never again, Scumbag Strava!

Update- Thank you for fixing this. Much appreciated. ****************************************************** I had a request for route searching. For some reason the ability to pull up the next few routes is not available. It's a huge pain to perform a new search everytime you want to pull more results. The only thing that is available now is to draw your own route. Please fix!!!

What's new

This week we're introducing two updates: Goals on Activities- You can now set Goals right on your activity page and track progress against your Goals every time you upload. Comment controls on posts- When you create a post, you will see a box in the left hand corner to allow or turn off comments.
