Backgammon is a game of skill and strategy; one of the world's classic parlour board games, played for recreation and gambling. Like Mahjong, Backgammon is played in social groups in coffee houses and bars. Historically, variants of this game are believed to have been played in Mesopotamia and Egypt thousands of years ago, then by the Romans and later in India. It also spread to East Asia, but was largely replaced by Xiangqi (Chinese chess). It is now very popular in the West.

Ratings and reviews

Nothing has changed. Except now, some commercials are literally 5 minutes. I have had this game forever, at least 10 years. Before ALLL of these forced commercials, I would have rated it a 5. Now, the commercials are so often, I give it a 3, and I am on the verge of deleting. I just read other reviews about the ads. They are NOT able to be stopped at 5 seconds. No. You are forced to see every last second. Just terrible.

I use to love this game. However, recently, the play has changed. Now, the dice rolls always seem to result in the exact move needed by the computer to bar my pieces. Also, I have had on several occasions all of my pieces on my inner table with many of the computer pieces there as well, only to not receive the needed tools and the computer to have several doubles in a row and win. I use to find this the most equitable backgammon app. Now, it is as faulty and biased as the rest.

Backgammon is fun to play. Despite what the programmers say in replies to these reviews, any experienced player will easily recognize that the hardest difficulty isn't playing well, it is just getting the best possible rolls and giving you awful rolls. You can test this. Before the computer rolls, think of what the perfect roll for them would be, it happens more often than it should. Before you roll, think of what the worst possible roll would be for you, it happens more often than it should.
