Bring the catnip. Draw as many cards as you can, and do your best to dodge — or defuse — fatal felines. Or else, boom goes the dynamite!

In this multiplayer, kitty-powered game of chance, players draw cards — until someone draws an exploding kitten and blows up. Then that player is out unless they have a defuse card. Defuse cards allow players to neutralize furry foes with laser pointers, belly rubs, catnip sandwiches or other diversions. All of the other cards in the deck can be used strategically to move, mitigate or avoid. Featuring original art by The Oatmeal.

Ratings and reviews

The gameplay is really fun and balanced, but the apps performance is unreliable. Sometimes, you can't use or grab a card from the deck, and sometimes, the game will use one of my cards even if I didn't want to. Also, there needs to be a 4 player and 3 player option for people who want to play quicker games and don't want to deal with people that are afk. UPDATE: the performance has worsened. Last week I could not join any matches. Now, the game crashes as soon as you open it.

Plenty of issues with this game, like it has not been tested thoroughly. Game freezes are too common to forgive and frequently the game just plain refuses to load. If you bought the card game, like I did, you'll notice the lack of some favourites and some new cards for online play. The "fake shuffle" card is a weird addition; does anybody know what it is useful for?

Good once you get it. Sometimes if the player before you explodes, you get timed out on your go before you get the chance to start due to the animation. This is really annoying as sometimes you can spend ages waiting for other players to timeout. So it's inconsistent. Also if you're out, you often either have to sit at watch the rest of the game, or close and re open the app. As the leave game button rarely works. Does sometimes though, which is weird. Otherwise would have been 5stars
