How we rate food products:
1. Food Nutrition Score: scans foods’ macro and micronutrients, as well as their ingredients.
2. Food Processing Score: based on ingredients for natural and artificial additives, as well as their manufacturing methods.
3. Food Safety Score: based on if a food contains toxic additives and ingredients likely exposure to pesticides and herbicides, and use of antibiotics and hormones
4. Food Climate Footprint Score: based on a food’s estimated carbon footprint and water footprint.

Ratings and reviews

Nonsense data for vegetarian/vegan users. known problem foods are listed as "Pescetarian" despite having beef or pork but no fish. Untrustworthy and immediate uninstall. Bummer.

The app is easy to use and presents well, but some of the information is clearly wrong. For example, it lists avacados and guacamole as having perfect environmental scores, which seems deeply misguided given the issues around their water consumption and unsustainable farming practices. I did not do an exhaustive search on all of their facts, but the fact that some things are wrong means it should not be trusted as an accurate source of information.

Just got started using the app, first impression is there is a bit of lag. The time you click on something and the time it registers, there is a brief delay. Other than that I really enjoy the info this app provides. I think it's a very positive tool for people to have, especially for those that don't have the time to research. It would be cool if there was also an app for things such as consumer goods. Great app you guys!
