I've been using Robinhood for a few years now. It's user-friendly and makes recurring investments easy. I started off with very small recurring investments not having much knowledge in the stock market. But quickly got comfortable with the easy to understand interface and everything they offer. I signed up for the Gold program, got the Gold card, and recently set up a bank account. The fee will easily pay for itself if you take advantage of the APY. The only negative is the lack of div tracking.

Hoo-boy what a difference a few years makes... Ads EVERYWHERE on the app now...! Like every damn other tech thing, they keep "improving" the app such that now it just doesn't work - now I simply cannot find the information about my uninvested cash, and the numbers that I find on the app and try to reconcile do not add up... Had I bought stock in Robin Hood when I left the original review I would have sold them all long ago! I'd buy stock in this app if I could – a LOT of it...

The interface is nice and user friendly, but sudden restrictions without warning on trading stock knocks off 3 stars for me (whether it's lack of funds or market manipulation, hard to tell since the answer is unclear). Why bother using this app to trade stocks when you can deal with other apps that don't do this? Updated 2/2026: Since then there has been less issues. There have been more incentives to keep money in Robinhood in general as well, so it has been earning trust back.
