The news aside, the lack of dark mode when reading the comments in addition to the copious amount of ads every 3-4 short paragraphs that are videos/animations make the reading experience very impractical. Human eyes are drawn to movement, it makes it too distracting to focus on the article. I usually position the text/skip ads so I can focus on the articles. If I see someone advertising here, distracting the audience for profit I am 100% not going to buy their product/service.

Annoying video ads: Even though you've a paid subscription, you have to sit thru 15 seconds of video ads before watching a video. An article may have 12 short videos, and each starts with ads. Sheer madness. disruptive! Unnecessary noise! Waste of my time! I don't watch the ads unless necessary. Long gone the days of a paper newspaper which was supported by ads that didn't move, and a one- or two- second glimpse was all it took for the reader to acknowledge the sales pitch.

The app itself is fine but the 4x1 widget won't let you scroll anymore, just stays stuck on articles 2 and 10 even after reinstall. Since the widget is what I really use the most the app is basically useless for me now.
