The remnants of human life are threatened by giant creatures breeding beneath the earth. Carefully choose your squad of powerful pilots and mechs to protect your territory. Each attempt to engage the enemy presents a new challenge in this futuristic combat game, which PC Gamer named Ultimate Game of the Year in 2018.

• Defend cities: Civilian buildings power your mechs. Defend the structures from the enemy and watch your fire!
• Perfect your strategy: Enemy attacks are telegraphed in minimalistic, turn-based battles. Analyze your opponent's attack and come up with the perfect counter every turn.

• Another chance: Failure is not an option. If you're defeated, send for help back through time to save another timeline.

Ratings and reviews

Still an excellent game. Great art, good design on letting players undo a turn once. Impressively good at creating puzzles that always seem to have one good solution. Edit: Has a bug (feature?) that uses up my reset if I visit the main menu, even of I have not done anything in the battle. This is making me very cautious about when I stop and start playing. Also the game is quite small on a phone screen, with some things hard to see. Update: Now doesn't seem to work at all. Playing on Fairphone4

It's into the breach... On mobile. The UI / UX design in this game is a master class. It really builds on their last game by presenting the game as a puzzle to be solved by showing you (almost) everything that will happen as a result of your actions. This means there isn't a huge learning curve as a new player wondering "what does this do?" And instead you can jump straight to "how can I use this?". Excellent rogue like / turn based strategy (puzzle) game.

(EDIT EDIT) There was an update that has just arrived for my Pixel 7 Pro and now Into The Breach works. Moved review from 4 stars to 5 stars. (EDIT) Since I left my review, the game crashes after the loading screen. The same issue as others have reported. Really disappointed. Changed from 5 to 4 stars. Cool puzzle game that takes time to master.
