After the latest update, nothing syncs, including email messages. Things don't sync even when I try to do so manually. And because of the sync issue, I no longer receive notifications. This issue is extremely disappointing. Edit: I was able to fix the issue by deleting some files to clear up space on my phone. Not sure how much space is needed, but I had to go through this process three times before things would sync.

The app is a lil ugly. Needs a redesign to make different actions (such as answering an email), more crisp looking/with smoother animations. At a minimum, we should be able to put pretty pics/patterns as a background. Another suggestion is to make it possible to delete all messages from a particular sender at once. Also, paying for Google Plus should get rid of ads in my email... There is always at least two ads when I want to look at my newsletters... Extremely annoying.

Been using the Gmail app for years. But recently it's become very unreliable, the app is constantly freezing. When trying to open emails in my inbox the selected email is highlighted (as if being selected for filing or deleting) not opened and the app just freezes and becomes unresponsive. I'm using on a OnePlus 12, I can't even uninstall the app to try reinstalling it. Anyone else having similar issues? Update - I've tried everything mentioned in the reply, nothing has cured the problem.
