About this app

Use your camera to magnify small text, see object details or zoom in on faraway text like street signs or restaurant menus behind a service counter. Apply visual effects to make low-contrast text more visible. In low-light environments, brightness is adjusted automatically. You can also take photos and zoom in as much as you need to.
Get started:
1. Download Magnifier from the Play Store.
2. (Optional) Set up Magnifier to easily open it via Quick Tap:
a. Open your phone's Settings app.
b. Go to System > Gestures > Quick Tap.
c. Turn on Use Quick Tap.
d. Choose open app. Next to 'Open app', tap Settings. Then select Magnifier.
e. To open Magnifier, tap twice on the back of your phone.

Magnifier requires Pixel 5 or a later model.

I like the app as it helps my poor eyes. The only problem I have is it crashes a lot. After a few zoom adjustments, the app will freeze. I hope this issues gets fixed.

Great to see a magnifier app directly from Google. The contrast and flashlight adjustment settings are great. I also appreciate the ability to take a still image of something to view clearly without it saving to your device /Google Photos. However, I still find myself using the camera app / video mode + the screen magnifier for a more "stable" view of something I need to quickly see or read. (Pixel 6)

I'm glad Google finally made this and they need to make more apps for people with disabilities. But the image quality in this app is horrible. Unless your outside in sunlight the image quality when zoomed in is really bad. My other free magnifier app blows this one out of the water. But it's a start I suppose, as long as they improve on it and didn't just shove this out there just to say they have it.
