Feedback for Developer Wonderful app, hands down my favorite as far as streaming music goes. One persistent problem I see showing up but not mentioned anywhere else is that a previously watched video/song is mysteriously not found later in the Offline Mixtape. Of course I can choose to stream the song all over again but having the song already downloaded is much more convenient than streaming 30mb of a song I listen to consistently. Thank you for the app and acknowledgement of this bug would be appreciated!
Just like the regular YouTube app It's not a very good music app. It's just like YouTube. The music stops playing when you lock the screen or go to the home screen of your phone.(just like the YouTube app) I wish that the music could play in the background. It works fine if you are just listening to music, but you can do this on YouTube as well. But I like to browse my other apps while listening to music and I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this. I would rate higher if I could listen to my music in the background without paying.
Two things to add ????? I love the app it is extremely easy to use but I have two things to add that might make it better. First of all maybe have it to where you can have your phone or device screen off and still be able to without buying YouTube red and I know you need at least some way to get money out of it but maybe think of some other ways to get money. Second of all and I think a lot of people will agree with me but add in a feature that we can get rid of ads you could have them spend like a dollar a month for no ads.
YouTube Red The sound quality is great, and it looks like a sleek interface, but many of my songs aren't even available on this app, and it lacks many of the features any other music app does have. Persistent phone-wide music? Nahh. Lock screen controls? You can't even play music on the lock screen. "But wait!", Google says. "Those features ARE available! Try out our YouTube Red service to activate them." Yeah, no thanks. I'm not paying ten bucks a month for what I could get for free, minus the 30 second Spotify ads.
Nice to have Yet another service to nickel and dime me to death. $9.95 a month sounds ok but everybody wants ten or twenty bucks for this and that. No, I cannot, actually I will not pay for another service that I don't have nearly enough time to get my monies worth out of it. Sometimes it's just better to not see the video. I like iHeart Radio because I can play it in the background. Maybe offer a version that's just music and let it be free. Google offers so many useful tools and apps, but I just can't pay for this.
Piece by piece... Yes, just like Adobe, Apple, and the airlines, YouTube has found a way to take things apart, bit by bit, so they can charge $ for each bit. I'm sure they will also find a way to squeeze in the ads, so don't worry about not seeing those.Don't bother if you are only downloading this to play music in the background. You can't. Unless you pay $10 a month for it. At least if you have Amazon Prime, you get the discount on shipping and prime music. I'll wait to see if Amazon adds the feature we want to their app.
We update our app all the time in order to make your YouTube Music experience better. We polished a few things and fixed some bugs.
