Latest app update is indeed terrible! It has modern UI, but the UX is very bad. A lot of functionality is missing. And it's full with bugs. Big ones! Like you open a playlist, click on a song and totally different one plays. And a lot more. I'm big fan of the speakers - using them more than 7 years now - great sound quality. The old app had a lot of space for improvements, but it was functional and working. This one is disaster. Sonos team, please fix this ASAP!

As everyone else mentioned, the new app is unstable, has issues connecting to the speakers, and is missing a lot of features. One feature I've been using a lot is the app widget that allowed me to see and control what's playing without having to open the app every time. That is gone now. Even the new volume control is worse, there's only a master volume, and to get to the individual ones you have to open the speaker selection screen

Great hardware, awful software. I've lost track of how many times I can't connect to a speaker to turn it off, change the volume etc. I love the sound from the speakers, hate the app. If they'd put as much effort into the app as the product we'd be onto a winner. As it stands I'm tempted to leave sonos, like some friends already have. 2024... New update, new look. The app is even WORSE than the last version. Can barely use my speakers now. App is completely unresponsive 95% of the time.
