Voting and Karma:

Instead of likes and hearts, Reddit’s social media network runs on upvotes or downvotes. Voting on posts and comments increase or decrease the creator’s karma, and helps popular and relevant posts rise to the top, while filtering out low-quality or irrelevant posts.

While karma doesn't directly impact your ability to use Reddit, more karma can increase posts’ visibility and help you get noticed. Some communities require karma to post or comment, which helps maintain content quality and community standards.

Join the largest social media platform and discover what matters to you!

Reddit used to be a lot more fun to use before the company made the API private and locked us all into their awful app. Navigation sucks, long loading times, bad image quality across the board, loss of tons of options for customization. Constantly swiping to another section of Reddit when I'm just trying to swipe through multiple images in a post. All this and it doesn't seem like they have any interest in making it any better. So stop asking me to rate the app. There it is.

There is some good content on Reddit but their app is worse than what third party apps used to be. One of the most annoying things is losing progress. Reading a long comments thread, close and want to go back? You are sent to the top of the page. Leave reddit in background while reading something? It sends you to homepage and refreshes the feed when you open it after a few minutes...

Been having weird experiences with Reddit, (I know, it's Reddit, but this is different) the app doesn't load, I've got great Internet speed, the app is updated, I'm not using a VPN, and I can't figure it out. It just keeps loading but nothing else works. First time I've experienced this in years! The guy's been bobbing his head for an awful lot of time now! Please look into this, it's absolutely frustrating. Thank you! Edit - was a app bug or problem at the time, still happens, but good now.
