Love the idea. I want a vitamin and mineral tracker so I know what my most common deficiencies are. This isn't quite there, though. The food search looks for exact strings only, so when I searched for oatmeal, all I got were oatmeal cookies. I finally found what I wanted under oats. Once a food is added, you can't edit the portions. There's no way to import recipes. But most frustrating, I added a meal where I knew the vitamin and mineral content and compared the values. They aren't accurate.

Hi Angela! Thank you for feedback. ViCa uses USDA nutrition facts database, which is one the the most accurate databases known. However, label info on branded foods may differ from this "generic" values because of source, preparation, fortification etc. Portion editing is coming soon. We also added to account your searching issues. Have a good day!

This app has been helpful with determining whether I'm meeting my dietary goals (increasing Ca and Mg and decreasing Na an K, at the moment.) The other diet tracking app I've tried really doesn't even include mineral information beyond sodium. I also appreciate that you can put in quantities by volume for most things--weighing food gets really old, and I'm not good at estimating grams. I wish it had a few more options listed in the prepared foods (crackers and tortillas, for example.)

Great for what I need it to do. I have to track vitamin d, folate or B9 and B12. This does a great job and so many other apps just don't even bother. Some of the transitions are a little clunky, but not buggy so I did not take off any points for that. The database is also pretty good for basic foods, but not so much the prepackged food. Your special prepackaged foods, like Atkins, or protein powders etc would have to be added manually. It would be good if they could be shared.
