About this app

Welcome to The Co-operative Bank mobile banking app.

Our mobile app features include:

• Logging in with your fingerprint, face (compatible devices only) or passnumber – it’s quick and secure
• Save and pay a new payee
• Browse over a year’s worth of transactions on your current, savings and loan accounts
• View and delete your scheduled payments
• View and delete payees
• Make payments to your Co-operative Bank credit card without the need to set up a new payee
• Transfer between your Co-operative Bank accounts
• Pay your saved payees
• Additional steps to protect you from fraud when paying a new payee
• Update your email address and telephone number.
• View up to 7 years of statements for current accounts, savings, ISAs and loans.
• Switch your statement preferences on your current or savings account
• The ability to apply for some products directly
• Share your account details with one of your contacts directly from the app

Gaining access

To gain access to our app you will need to register for online banking if you haven’t already done so. If you have, you will need your username, password and 6-digit security code to access our app.

Is my phone compatible?

For security reasons, to use our mobile app you’ll need to be using an Android device with an operating system of at least version 7.0. You also won’t be able to use the app if your device is rooted.

If you are not able to update to this version, you can log into online banking to access your accounts.

Terms of use

We collect non-personal user data to monitor how well the app works. For example, measuring how long you spend on a particular screen. We collect a limited amount of personal data to allow you to use the app, for fraud prevention purposes and to help us to fix problems and improve the app for everyone. Everyone is opted in to this feature. If you do not want us to process your personal data in this way, please delete the app. If you download the app, you consent to sharing how you use it. Staying safe

To protect our customers we use a range of security measures including the latest encryption technology. Independent security experts have tested the security of our app.

There are still a few things you can do to protect yourself using the app:

• Only download the app from official app stores
• Never share your login details with anyone
• When logging on in a public place, keep your details out of sight
• Always install the latest security and operating system updates.

Please note:
We won’t charge you for downloading or using the app. However, your mobile network provider may charge you for data use, depending on your tariff or contract. Contact your operator for details. You may also use this service when connected to a Wi-Fi network.

As of mandatory update on 22/2/24, the app no longer opens. Uninstalling, restarting phone, reinstalling app makes no difference. Up until now, I seem to have been fortunate that the app has worked mostly trouble-free. Admittedly it's not got as many features as some of the newer banks' apps. Coupled with no longer being able to make international payments online, without having to endure a 30 minute scripted conversation with a customer service operative, I'm starting to reconsider ethical bnk

Hi Peter, we're aware of an issue for customer's running Android 8 and we'll shortly be releasing a fix. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. In the meantime, you can update your operating system to a newer version or use online banking. If you're not running Android 8, please get in touch with customer services on 03457 212 212. – Sammie

Since the most recent update it sometimes takes up to 7 or 8 attempts of closing the app and re-opening to get fingerprint identifier to load. Not very good at all especially when you're in a rush. It's really annoying regardless. Never had this issue with this until the most recent update and it makes moving money between accounts and absolute chore. Please fix this and make loading times on the app faster too, without all the credit card/loan/mortgage ads too.

There is no option to save a payee. There is also no 'transfer to one of your accounts' option within the 'pay and transfer' screen. This means that you have to manually add all bank details every time you want to transfer money to another co-op account that shows within the app. In reply, there is no option to transfer in the Pay & Transfer screen on Android. I'd advise checking this yourself, as it's not present on a fully updated app. I realise this may be a bug, but if so, it needs fixing.

What's new

We've updated our mobile app. In this release, we have changed our payment limits. To protect you against fraud you can transfer up to £19,999.99 in any 24-hour period. Each payment you make contributes towards this limit. This does not include payments between your own Co-operative Bank accounts or payments to your Co-operative Bank credit cards.
