When you use Scotiabank’s mobile deposit feature, we will access your device camera to take a picture of your cheque; record the cheque number, account number, institution transit number, and amount; record your device model, as well as its iOS version and manufacturer.


When you download or update this app, or when you apply for, enrol in, or use a service through mobile banking, we may collect information about your computer or device, operating system, internet connection or telephone account, settings, IP address and device locational data, and transaction data, as well as personal information.

Edited to add: I used to rate this app at five stars, but ever since the 2sv has been a thing, I've had to lower my rating. I can't even log on to my banking on a personal desktop without having my mobile phone nearby for additional verification. My bookkeeper can't update my QuickBooks banking statement without me having to verify at the same time on my mobile. It complicates everything about doing my banking and it is annoying enough that I've considered shopping for a new bank.

I have used Scotiabank for well over 10 years,but this app has been incredibly frustrating with the two-step authentic code system that never works. I have had to deactivate my device and reactivate to reactivate the two-step process countless times and still can not access the notification. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times, have ensured all notifications, wifi,etc , are all on. This creates a HUGE issue when I have no access to my account.

Everytime I try to login i get an infinite loading screen. So to get around this I have to uninstall and reinstall the app EVERYTIME I WANT TO BANK. The website also gives me an error so have to do it on the app. Its been like this for years and scotia hasn't done anything to fix it. Swap banks. Do not use scotia. This is absolute utter garbage.
