App was fine until the latest update. Key buttons were taken away from the controller, like pause/play and fast fwd/rewind. It also now opens automatically to the screen with Amazon content, which puts the main reason for the app (the controller) as an after thought. At least offer user the ability to switch back to the old version.

I have an Insignia TV with Fire TV. I've tried several other apps and they either don't work well or are bloated with ads. The Samsung app we tried for our other T.V. kept timimg out and required you to have the remote to activate the app. That doesn't do you any good when you can't find the remote. This app works surprisingly well and doesn't have ads! It really saves me for when my wife loses the remote.

It's really good. It actually works the way it's supposed to half the time but it's finicky with connecting to a TV and I just had to uninstall and reinstall it in order to connect it back to my TV and the volume button? Completely gone. Edit: You can change the volume but you need to give the app microphone permissions and do it through Alexa (if this happens to you). It works but it's inconvenient enough to warrant a 3 star. Seriously though, if you need a replacement, this is the best one.
