Needs lots of Improvement It's okay as far as basic things between the app and the echo. But like once said you need flash cards to keep track of all the things that you assigned to the echo. They should have a lot easier way of communicating and just telling it something instead of having to say ask a certain app to do something. There's a lot of questions you ask that it has no knowledge about and a two-way communication is almost non-existent. From what I see on Google home they have developed a much clearer communication between
This app is invaluable for the shopping list alone! Although I wish there were widgets ... especially for the To-Do list, or better yet sync to Google Tasks so I can use a widget I already have and like. Edit: There seems to be no way to add items to the shopping list from the mobile app, please work on this. ... Post Edit: It turns out I had my font size too large, one I reduced the font size I was able to add items from the mobile app. This was not immediately obvious as I had been putting up with it for over a year.
Very buggy with Samsung S7 Edge The app would not get through the setup for my Echo Dot using my Samsung S7 Edge. Had to download it to my wife's iPhone to get it to work. IPhone app works great. Samsung app...not so much. Also, if you want to play Amazon Prime music, make sure the Echo is set up under the PRIMARY Amazon account. Other Amazon Prime accounts in the same household don't have access to Prime Music. Took me almost a month to figure out why my Echo Dot wouldn't play anything from Prime Music.
Alexa app... so much potential! I love all of my Echos and when the app works I like that, too. Just switched to the Pixel Xl and the Alexa app only shows about 3 items on my shopping list vs at least 7 items on my Samsung Note 4. Both phones have almost the same screen size. Sometimes the APP doesn't even load or takes FOREVER. This app could be great if Amazon would ever get around to fixing it.
App won't load! :( Love the echo, but Alexa app won't load on my Samsung S6, after 1st setup, next day went to open app and had to clear the cache and force stop the app, so I lost all the skills I had enabled and had to restart. Now on day 3, same is happening all over again! So frustrating! Love amazon and echo but amazon needs to get the android app right. Very poor representation of a good company and good product. C'mon amazon, step up!
App very poor. Product very good Like many users on here couldn't get past the WiFi setup on Samsung S7 (Android) I got around it by doing on Mac using Web address. Once setup the product is great and fun. App is pretty basic and doesn't really have the look and feel that you would expect from an Amazon product. Summary - Great product, but get the entire ecosystem working.
* Bug fixes and performance enhancements
