Ratings and reviews

I used them for several years with no issues and they always had good rates. Suddenly, I received messages that I was in violation of their terms of service or some other nonsense and that they couldn't authorize the transaction. I emailed them to ask what I was in violation of and they couldnt tell me. So they probably let some AI based system determine some arbitrary nuance or whatever within their system that I violated but then cant tell me what it is? 5 star to 1 star. BYE!

EXCEPTIONAL customer service! If you're new to this or if it's one of your first times, just reach out to them, they will help you. It does get complicated to send money from one country to another with exchange rates and very strict delivery rules. Sometimes you have to match up IDs, sometimes you have to match up phone numbers, sometimes it has to be both. It's very complicated for some situations and can get messy and frustrating quickly. The customer service at Remitly is SO helpful!!!

It was my first time using the app and supposedly it was going to be free for me which was -1.99 and the recipient was going to receive a better rate but, after I did the transaction, the transaction fee was 12 dollars and I ended up paying 10 dollars for the fee to transfer the money. Nowhere in the options said that the bank transfer was 12 dollars and the discount was not free or part of a partial discount!!! I found out once I saw the charge on my card. Save money by understanding the fees.
