The system is wonky,it's luck of the draw on who you get sometimes, and it's just as expensive as hiring uplumbing service, no savings at all. If you make the mistake of contacting more than one person for some reason. They don't read your responses or they don't get them, and they keep bugging you until you have to directly unlink yourself from them on the app. Don't know if I could recommend. I got lucky with the guy I hired,but very very expensive.

I was able to hire a couple of good professionals from the Thumbtack app, but my account was deactivated with no warning or reason given. When I asked why, the support team told me my request would not be considered and didn't provide any reason. Also, beware of pros who use an automated reply to answer your request within one minute so that their company is listed higher on the algorithm. I found great pros by chatting with individuals who cared about doing the work over booking the work.

I needed someone to replace my garage door spring so I downloaded the app. It was very easy to setup and get a pro but the negative was the companies completing for the business. I requested for the app to send my request to only 2 companies but 4 companies responded. They called and text me many times, I had to block one of the companies. Also the service professionals were very expensive. one company gave me a quote of $675 for one spring. I deleted the app.
