HEAR WHAT NEIGHBORS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT NEXTDOOR

“Before Nextdoor, I didn’t know there were several qualified babysitters living nearby and looking for work. It was easy to feel comfortable hiring my neighbor’s daughter to watch my son after school.” - Patrick, Mission East

“This year for Spring Cleaning, we wanted to sell old appliances, tools, clothing and electronics on Nextdoor For Sale & Free. In no time, our neighbors stopped by to make a deal and take things off our hands. It was easier than anything else, and it feels good knowing our old stuff has found a new home in the neighborhood.” - Dan, Hayes Valley

I like the idea of the app, sharing info with neighbors, creating community, etc, but the programming is just kind of weak. You can change the settings of the order of posts so that most recent is on top, but that is not the default. When you try to search posts, you do not have the option of how to sort through posts, so it makes refinding a post almost impossible. When I click on a post from email, the app almost never opens that post either, until the third attempt.

Overall I think this is an okay app. The idea of sharing with your neighbors is really nice. I like that we can post items to sell etc. However there seems to be some things the developers should iron out. For example, when I get a notification and I click on it, it never takes me to the post I was notified for. Just why? Another issue is that when I made a post, I don't get any notifications for my own post. The notifications are on, but I just don't get anything. I hope these issues get fixed!

Hi Stephanie, we apologize for the frustrating experience with notifications. This is certainly not the expected behavior, and our developers are aware of the issue and working on a fix. A resolution should be available shortly. If you have any questions, please get in touch here: http://nxdr.co/socialcare and we'll assist from there. Thanks again.

Really hard to read the feed with so many sponsored posts. Almost makes the app unusable for browsing. But worst of all, it is extremely hard to find new and urgent information on safety related issues. We've intermittently had gunfire very close to our house over the past few years. We know people are posting about it, but the posts simply don't get surfaced. There really should be some sort of chronological sorted view of the feed.

Hi Zach! It sounds like you may be sorting by recent activity, which shows you posts w/ the most recent comments. If you'd prefer to sort your feed chronologically instead, you can customize this right from your settings. For step-by-step instructions, check out this Help Center article under "newsfeed preferences": https://nxdr.co/3oACmw2.
