Ratings and reviews

every property I viewed said all fees included & showed me a price per night for the dates I selected. when you click "request to book" they all went up in price by many hundreds of dollars. on top of and independent of that increase, "fees" were then added for vrbo service fee, cleaning fee and taxes. when I called customer support she said only that the cleaning fee of $300 should have been included but not the other fees and that she could offer $120. She could not explain the bait & switch.

The app is near unusable, non-stop glitching. I wasn't able to access the door code upon arrival, because the app sends you on a continuous log-in loop. Thankfully, the hosts were very responsive. I wouldn't have chosen to use Vrbo, but when I booked through Expedia, they told me it was managed by Vrbo. I will say that support was very friendly, and tried to do their best. When we got disconnected, they were kind enough to email me the property details. Support 5/5, the app 2/5 at most.

Pricing is very obscure and it is impossible to find out the final price without going through the entire booking process. Even then, you get charged an additional "service fee" that is not calculated at the time of booking - it pops up as a surprise on your credit card after the fact. No official invoice is sent - you just have a pricing screen on the app which is even more useless and gives no totals. The service fee, while mentioned, is not detailed on that screen. Stay away from VRBO!
