GROUP CHATS – Create larger group chats with up to 250 people. Send and receive photos/videos in seconds. Personalize your chat experience with avatars, backgrounds and more. You can even mute a conversation or add or remove members or without creating a new group.
YELP INTEGRATION – Tap the plus menu and easily access Yelp from within the app. Search for restaurants, entertainment and directions. Make plans and share the details all within your chat.
SHARE YOUR LOCATION – Glympse™ lets you share your location with the people you choose for the length of time you set. Perfect for meeting up, or letting people know you’re running late.
SEND AN eGIFT – Tap the plus menu and select eGifts icon. Easily send an eGift card right through text message. eGifting has been expanded to include eGift cards from more than 30 brands
SYNC ACROSS DEVICES – Download Verizon Messages on all your devices, and sync messages across your smartphone, tablet and computer. Switch devices whenever you want. Make calls with your tablet anywhere.
DRIVING MODE – Turn on driving mode to send an Auto-Reply message and disable incoming message notifications so you don’t get distracted on the road.

Ratings and reviews

This is still my favorite messaging app. It offers A LOT of customization. Some features are REALLY annoying to use. When you forward messages you have to peck your way through too many options. The keyboard/search doesn't always popup when you select those options. When you play back audio messages the phone will go to sleep, and when you return it doesn't remember where it left off. There are no controls for this. I'd like to hide/remove emoji's and the microphone options, use keyboard.

For the last few weeks, every notification, from this specific app, disappears from my status bar. This is extremely useful if I don't want to respond to anybody ever, or anything important throughout my life. "Hello, your family member just died". Notification gone. "Hello, someone just stole your car" Notification gone. Etc etc etc etc etc etc etc Update: This update is trash. Thanks for the devolution. Edit: SEP 2024 and this app is again failing to give notifications by sound or status bar

Loved the app, works well and the small customizations was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately I'll be uninstalling due to the app forcing text emoticons such as :) to show a very disturbing looking, low quality emoji. It's only client-side, as other people receiving your messages receive the :) and not the weird emoji. From everything I looked at online and conversations with Verizon, there is no way to disable it and they have stated they do not plan to make an option. So uninstall.
