Love the concept but the information is poor. Aldi really need to show more clearly this is only for a specific type of store and not every aldi supermarket. Luckily I asked my local store for clarification rather than looking like a halfwit just walking out with a trolley full of food and security chasing me.

WARNING: the first time you use Shop & Go, they pre-authorise a payment of £10 on your debit card whether or not you make a purchase. If you have a bank account that won't let you go overdrawn, this may prevent you from entering the store if your available balance is already less than £10. It may also cause subsequent payments from your card to be declined. It works very well and there are helpful staff on hand to explain how to use it. They don't tell you about the pre-authorisation.

Unfortunately, there are many issues with an app and the whole concept at the store. Sign up process is not straightforward, and password recovery route is fully unacceptable. An app will not store your credentials during login, and if you have made mistake in password in order to change it have to request code but if you accidentally added wrong email it will freeze.
