latest experience I should have picked up a vehicle in Europe after hours and the key was locked in a self service deposit that needed a QR code from the app ... well the app never received any QR despite various tries , even reinstall. There is no human available 24/7 ... so car stayed at the facility and I had to look for a hotel. WHAT A SHAME earlier opinion Gives you the co teol you need over your bookings. Avis Preferred is really worth it, makes your pickup experience much much smoother

The app is completely useless. I installed it when I received an email that said that I can bypass the check in if I use the app. I did that, completed the verification, but the QR code is not there. And I still got 2 more emails saying that I can bypass the check in via the app. Also, it is slow, each new page loads for 5-7 seconds, when I come back to the previous page it loads AGAIN. And it blocks the notification bar, so I can't even see the clock when the app is running. Ridiculous.

Absolutely useless. The app is always throwing errors and behaving badly. For example, apparently failing to login, but then allowing me to see my account as if it had actually logged in after all. Or not allowing me to see my trip details because "surname doesn't match profile", whatever that means (account and emailed booking confirmation look correct). Negative UX.
